THE WHO - Who’s Next - APPLE ACETATE
On offer here are rare UK acetates of The Who ’Who’s Next’ lp.These 12 inch, 2 x 1 single- sided acetates have Apple
labels with typed titles and cut by Apple London. I don’t know if this version or mix is different from the commercially
released one.On both label the ’STEREO’ is crossed out , and it is really mono.These acetates (similar to my other acetates
on ebay) cames from a collection that was a part of inheritance. I managed to buy this collection a few years ago.As I know
the original owner worked for EMI,Germany.I have no further information of its origin.
About the condition :
These discs (which have got typical smell of acetate)are not in perfect condition ,however ,it is a rare item.
Side 1: The needle jumps seven times at the song ’BABA O’RILEY’ . I could examine it thoroughly,but I didn’t
find any serious or deep scratches.
Side 2:There is a deep scratch at the beginning of the song 'Getting In Tune'. whereabout the needle is jumps (only once).
At the other songs there are no problems. As with most acetates of this age, it has got a lot of surface marks.
Visually graded VG , plays well with usual background crackle throughout.
