====================================================================================
 A rock classic, 1969's "Tommy" established the band as one of rock's biggest acts. A two album set chronicling the life of the "deaf, dumb and blind kid", Townshend's symbolism and plot line may have been somewhat murky (something along the lines of Tommy's rise to prophet status, followed by his betrayal and collapse) but whatever lapses in plot line were more than compensated for with several instantly recognizable tracks, including 'Pinball Wizard', 'See Me, Hear Me' and 'I'm Free'. Their first top-10 American release, ironically the album's overwhelming success quickly became a major burden. Public demand for "Tommy" product led to a stage show, a rock orchestra version of the album, a film, an all-star movie soundtrack and a slew of related projects. Even worse, the album set the standard whereby future Who releases were judged.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Sleeve:  VG+.  A great gatefold sleeve. The sleeve has a couple of line creases at the spine. Nothing serious.
Labels: EX+.   See photos.
Inner sleeve. Plain inners. No splits. No tears.
Poster. VG+ No pin holes no tears no writing. A few gentle folds.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.
V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.
