The Who are an English rock band who emerged in 1964 with singer Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. They combined popular singles, such as "My Generation" (1965), "Substitute" (1966), "I Can See for Miles" (1967), "Pinball Wizard" (1969), and "Won't Get Fooled Again" (1971), with critically acclaimed albums such as the rock operas Tommy (1969), and Quadrophenia (1973). They are known for energetic live performances which, since a performance at the Railway Hotel in Wealdstone in June 1964 when Townshend smashed his guitar in anger and frustration, often include smashing their instruments. For much of their career they have been regarded as the third most important British rock act after the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
My Generation is the debut album by the band released by Brunswick Records in the UK in December 1965. In the US, it was released by Decca Records as The Who Sings My Generation in April 1966, with a different cover and a slightly altered track listing. The album was made immediately after the Who got their first singles on the charts and according to the booklet in the Deluxe Edition, it was later dismissed by the band as something of a rush job that did not accurately represent their stage performance of the time. On the other hand, critics often rate it as one of the best rock albums of all time: in 2003, the album was ranked number 236 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, and named the second greatest guitar album of all time by Mojo magazine. In 2004, it was #18 in Q magazine's list of the 50 Best British Albums Ever.[5] In 2006, it was ranked #49 in NME's list of the 100 Greatest British Albums. In 2004, the title track was #11 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. In 2006, "The Kids Are Alright" was #34 in Pitchfork's list of the 200 greatest songs of the 1960s.

This original Decca Records DL 74664 Stereo LP appears to be in MINT CONDITION. The cover shows signs of age with the back seem beginning to crack & split & a "cutout" along the lower right hand corner. It's being offered for sale at auction, " AS IS" & with no reserve.
