Description
Here is The WHO and a RARE edition single that has been a little 'misunderstood' by books and guides. It is said that there were as many pressed of this issue as the follow-up re-press with 'INSTANT PARTY' as the 'b' side, before that too got withdrawn due to a court legal injunction! However, either this edition got destroyed, mostly, before getting to the shops - or there were few made in the first place. Certainly it's the same song before it got re-titled, when The WHO management realised that Shel Talmy owned the rights to the song, albeit an earlier version recorded under the Brunswick company contract. So, they tried to keep the vinyl pressed and change the name of the track on the lables, to keep Talmy none the wiser - but unfrotunately he was watching closely when the band jumped to Robert Stigwood's new lable, and amid acrimonious suits and reciminations from both sides, this 45 finally got another flip, hurriedly culled from a Graham Bond Organisation out-take. This was pointedly called 'Waltz For A Pig', aimed at Talmy of course. This then, became an 'Instant Rarity'! ...and this copy is by FAR the hardest to find, and is probably one of the rarest WHO singles alongside the Tommy promo 45s! Great music on both sides, pressed on British vinyl, and the original FIRST EDITION! VINYL condition grades VG++. Lables are clean matt blue/silver text and logo, with a slight watermark on one side but overall very decent! Winning bidder pays postage of £2.50 UK, £3.50 EU, £5.50 Worldwide.
