THE VIBRATIONS – Getting Higher (1975?) Valley Sound-1001 – M-/M- (cover/vinyl)
Killer funk and soul group based in the British Virgin Islands. There is a very cool mix of dance rhythms throughout with the emphasis on funk. The title track, “Getting Higher,” is fantastic, with other cuts being “Disco Radio,” “Lonely In the Night,” “Toronto Jam,” “Don’t Let No Other Man Fool You,” “Disco Reggae,” “Burn It Baby,” “The Angel,” “Vibrations Brass,” and “Don’t Jive Me.” Rare release!
This is a beautiful copy. The cover is tight and intact with only the slightest hint of wear – white on white so it’s not really noticeable. The vinyl is super clean and glossy and looks unplayed. I grade this conservatively M-/M- (cover/record).
