THE VAPORS, ORIGINAL PRESS PHOTO BY FIRST RECORD LABEL & PRESS BIOG, 1979
Four months before they had their smash worldwide hit Turning Japanese (did you know it was even No1 in Peru?), The Vapors had just been signed to Liberty/United Records.
This is a rare copy of the ORIGINAL photo issued to music journalists by the record label, and even carries the record label name and Vapors name in their distinctive punky typeface on the margin.
It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, having been stored - dry and in the dark - for the past 25 years.
Also included is the original Liberty/United press info - a three-page stapled press release about the band from Guildford, Surrey, who began on the local pub circuit before being spotted by The Jam's Bruce Foxton in April 1979 and instantly brought on to the same touring bill as Weller's band.
This photo and press biog was to promote The Vapors' first single on the label, Prisoners, released in November 1979. This photo and biog was issued the previous month.
