Description
I purchased The Time, Ice Cream Castle, in the mid-1980’s interested in what has been described as the ‘Funk Pop Rock Jam Minneapolis Sound.” Reminiscing back about the Time’s live performances on stage, include “Fun.”
The album was produced and arranged by Prince as “The Starr Company.” Although not credited as a performer on the jacket credits, the stamp of Prince’s musicianship (instrumentation and/or molding the sound) is evident throughout the tracks, in particular the extended guitar solo in “Jungle Love.”
“Ice Cream Castles,” Jungle Love” and “The Bird” are the standout cuts, but “Chili Sauce,” with Novi Novog’s atmospheric violin playing and some exquisite bass lines, is deserving of close listening.
This LP is from my personal collection and I am its original owner. I handle records with care and play them back on good turntables. The record will be packaged in a cardboard mailer designed for shipping vinyl.
