SILVERTONE RECORDS [ORE LP 502]
A much cherished and looked after record from my own collection. The sleeve and inner sleeve are in NEAR MINT condition with no splits or tears or other damage. This was a band that I'd seen live a few times - from MANCHESTER BOARDWALK to SPIKE ISLAND - and whose records I bought for a few years. As we'd been following the band around a bit I was gifted 6 copies of this original pressing two weeks prior to release by a member of staff at PICCADILLY RECORDS when the shop was still at it's location in PICCADILLY GARDENS. This was the only copy that I kept for myself and it features the original record labels and the original 'embossed sleeve' where the lemons and the band name are very slightly raised - this embossing is difficult to see but easy to feel. Now considered a RARE version of this classic album you'll be hard pressed to find such an IMMACULATE copy of the packaging. Unfortunately I don't have a turntable to give it a spin but I'd imagine that it still plays really well* ... * UPDATE >> had a chance to listen to it today on a borrowed turntable and it plays PERFECTLY : no jumps or skips and just the regular background noise that came with vinyl which you either love or hate - personally I switched to CD in the mid 1990s :-)
