THE SOUND - PHYSICAL SOUND 7" E.P.

MEGA RARE DEBUT POST PUNK E.P.

LABEL INFO: TORTCH RECORDS

CATALOGUE NUMBER: TOR 003

YEAR: 1979

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: UK

TRACKLIST: Cold Beat/ Physical World/ Unwritten Law

On the highly collectable Tortch Records label, Adrian Borland's debut E.P. with The Sound was pressed up in a VERY limited run. This is the real deal: obscure indie punk record label, black and white printed sleeve and lovely silver plastic labels. The Sound went on to line-up changes and a modicum of success on Korova records, but this short sharp shock of post punk energy was probably the best stuff they committed to vinyl.

Collectors of Post Punk/D.I.Y. are in for a treat. This is a LOVELY copy of this extremely rare 7" single. As with all my listings, this will start LOW and with NO RESERVE. I always take care with my listings and aim to give you the clearest possible picture!

CONDITION OF VINYL: VERY GOOD. As I mention below, my 'Excellent' is a genuine EXCELLENT: I don't just over grade for the sake of it. This 7" is graded at VERY GOOD , in that it shows some very light signs of having been played, but still gives AMAZING sound reproduction! Side A sounds jaw dropping. The needle glides straight in with NO surface noise, and from then on in the single plays like a new record. Every stoccato rhythm and strangled vocal is crystal clear and punchy. There is NO surface noise at the run off groove either. SIDE 2 is just as awesome, with NO surface noise audible at all. There is some light paper scuffing as a result of removing the disc from the paper sleeve, and one spot of wear just before the run off groove. As mentioned before, NONE of these light scuffs affect playback! I aim to give as accurate a grading as possible, unlike other sellers who simply write 'MINT' etc. with no description! Many ebayers would probably over grade this record on the account of the sound reproduction, but I like to keep you as clued up as possible! The LABELS are EXCELLENT, with no marks or blemishes.

CONDITION OF SLEEVE: EXCELLENT -. The sleeve is in lovely shape. On the front of the sleeve there is a tiny, tiny spot of light staining just above the 'S' in sound, but otherwise the paper is uncreased and unripped. On the rear of the sleeve there is a touch of wear as the disc has been stored inside the sleeve, but some of this is grime which can be removed with a school eraser. This is a GREAT copy of this RARE record... YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!

I am an avid collector of many, many genres and keep my records in IMMACULATE condition. I grade according to the Record Collector Price Guide 'Ready Reckoner' and almost NEVER sell anything which is below EXCELLENT condition. Rest assured that my EXCELLENT is bloody EXCELLENT! Oh yeah and I NEVER GRADE ANYTHING MINT THAT IS NOT SEALED!! Near Mint is the highest grading I use for unsealed records.

All records will be sent within two days MAXIMUM of receipt of payment (usually within 4/5 hours of payment received). Your record will be expertly packed in a professional brown mailer, using one or two stiffeners and housed in a PVC 12" sleeve with the record in a paper inner placed outside the sleeve as is standard practice. I've always been lucky when buying records from ebay (save the odd occasion) and would like all buyers of my records to be 100% SATISFIED!

DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK QUESTIONS!!!
