THE SOUND NETWORK - WATCHING

Unique, one off 7 inch Emidisc acetate disc


The Sound Network were a short lived 60s UK band featuring Kirk Duncan (writer, vocalist and keyboards). He later formed the band TURQUOISE, the legendary psychedelic outfit


The song was officially released by Mercury Records in '66.


Possibly the only existing acetate copy

Playing surface looks GOOD (graded by eye and ear) playing surface/labels many marks and grazes visible to playing surface, the grooves have some grey ingress - typical of acetates, there's clicks and surface noise but suprisingly, nothing too obtrusive, plays through robustly without any jumps or major disturbances. There is surface noise, however. Its label is a little yellowed and slightly translucent. The generic sleeve is original - Very Good, and a little yellowed. Please see pics of actual item and video.

Please note, acetates are sold strictly as seen, their condition deteriorates with each play and they are extremely fragile in nature. Condition can be subjective. Sorry to insult collector's intelligence here. 

Their value is often in what they contain, often unissued demos, work in progress, different mixes. It's recommended that they are dubbed immediately as a sound file. With the right software, imperfections, e.g. surface noise and clicks, can be taken out. The acetate should remain in good condition if played carefully, with a light pick up, in moderation, and stored in dry, cool conditions, for posterity as unique artefacts.
