THE SMITHS, HATFUL OF HOLLOW, UK ROUGH TRADE VINYL LP The Smiths – Hatful of Hollow
The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. Based on the songwriting partnership of Morrissey (vocals) and Johnny Marr (guitar), the band also included Andy Rourke (bass) and Mike Joyce (drums). Critics have called them one of the most important alternative rock bands to emerge from the British independent music scene of the 1980s. Hatful of Hollow is a compilation album that features BBC Radio 1 studio recordings and two contemporary singles with their B-sides. It was released in 1984.
Side One: William, It Was Really Nothing; What Difference Does It Make?; These Things Take Time; This Charming Man; How Soon Is Now?; Handsome Devil; Hand In Glove; Still Ill.
Side Two: Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now; This Night Has Opened My Eyes; You’ve Got Everything Now; Accept Yourself; Girl Afraid; Back To The Old House; Reel Around The Fountain; Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want.
The album is on Rough Trade Records, ROUGH 76. Matrix side one: ROUGH 76 A1 (written). Matrix side two: ROUGH 76 B3 (written).
Released in 1984. UK pressing. Stereo.
Condition: (as Record Collector's grading system. If I see a mark it will be mentioned however light/small, including from the usual very light paper scuffs/marks - usually caused by record being removed from the inner sleeve, which appear on nearly all old records and which are only visible under strong light)
Vinyl side 1: good (a few light superficial marks can been seen and there is a mark at the begining of the fifth track which causes 9 clicks, that apart plays great and is still a great listen).
Vinyl side 2: excellent (a few light superficial surface marks can be seen that do not affect the audio in any way, plays without fault).
Cover (glossy): excellent (no obvious faults - see photos).
Comes with the original lyric inner sleeve in excellent condition.
The record plays with no jumps, skips or sticks and minimal crackle.
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
