Description
"THE SHADOW" RADIO SHOW TRANSCRIPTION DISC. APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES OF A APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTE RADIO PROGRAM ON THIS 16 INCH, BLACK LACQUER, 33 1/3 RPM DISC. THIS DISC WAS RECORDED FOR REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY AND NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. VERY RARE!
This disc contains the last approximately 15 minutes of a approximately 30 minute radio broadcast
The date on the disc states "Rec 5/23/48 Play 5/30/48". It sounds like a direct line from the network, not a transcription made from another transcription. I'm guessing the correct date is 5/23/48, but it's possibly 5/30/48
The disc starts with a Blue Coal commercial and includes the second half of the show. In this episode, Lamont Kranston is in pursuit of a murder suspect, until The Shadow shows up!
Program is sponsored by Blue Coal with commercials. Bret Morrison stars as Lamont Kranston with Grace Matthews as Margo. Announcer is Andre Baruch
The Shadow side has cracks in the lacquer that are hard to see but are visible under close inspection, most prominently in the outer edge. There is no flaking on this side and the cracks to not effect play. There is damage to the reverse side which is visible in the photos. The reverse side contains the first half of the 5-22-48 Meet The Press radio show. I did not attempt to play this side as it is damaged.
There is a very light swooshing sound in the first few minutes that does not detract from the enjoyability of the radio program. Otherwise the sound is EX-
