This is an original UK first pressing of The Ronettes Featuring the late and the great Ronnie Spector it holds the earliest 1B1B matrix numbers and it is in absolutely incredible condition.
The sleeve.
Double click the pictures, as you can see the front of the sleeve is very close to immaculate with its only criticism being the slightest laminate ware just below the "Philles Records" emblem, other than that the front is perfect. There is no unwanted writing or doodling anywhere on this item. The back of the LP jacket for this particular LP is nothing short of astounding. The back of this sleeve was never laminated so are always prone to pick up damage, most that appear for sale are shot to pieces, again double the pictures and you will see this one is bright and clean and in pretty exceptional condition testament to this being very well cared for over the last 58 years . The spine is fully intact with all spinal writings fully readable. The original inner sleeve is present and although it has a few creases there are no rips or tares and the cellophane is as firmly attached as it was when it was made. This sleeve is a cracker and I am happy to grade it as ECELLENT plus.
The record. The deep groove silver typeset on a lilac background labels are gorgeous they do have some spindle trails to both sides that you cant see unless you tilt the record into the light, stunning. Both side 1 and side 2 of this heavy slab of 60s vinyl hold the highest lustre sheen and they shimmer like mirror when tilted into the light. Only under a very bright light you can see the very lightest of spidery web hairlines that are on every record in existence that has ever been removed from its inner sleeve. There are no bad marks anywhere on the vinyl, no feelable scratches and the way this album plays is truly incredible. Crystal clear bold and loud the sound on this Mono pressing jumps out at you and wallops your tympanum in a way that is always lacking on the stereo pressings. Anyone who is familiar with the Beatles Please Please Me or the Velvet Underground and Nico LPs will know exactly what I mean, the difference between the Mono and Stereo pressings of all three of these albums has to be heard as the difference is huge. I test played this album 3 times and playback is truly astounding. No hissing no skips and no sticking. This record when listening with an ultra critical ear is simply impossible to fault. It plays every track through its entirety without flaw. Even in the dead wax areas it is total silence which adds emphasis to the music once it starts. I am happy to grade the album as EXCELLENT PLUS. If you already own a copy of this classic LP then surely this copy right here is your upgrader !
