Description
Hi, and welcome to psych_out! auctions!!!
I've collected 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between for all my life!!! Obviously, 90%+ of the LP's i've ever gotten hold of are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? Reluctantly, i've decided to offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!! I'm currently trying to set up a record label so unfortunately personal sacrifices have to be made when it comes to my collection, resulting in GREAT benefits for all you shrewd bidders and serious connosieurs of TRUE solid gold music history out there!!! Make no mistake, i'll try my best to consistently offer some of the VERY BEST records available on ebay, many which have taken me YEARS to find!!!
I aim to put a weekly batch up (time permitting) every wednesday, all timed to end 10 days later on saturday night. I'll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZING, MOST IMPORTANT, VERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS i've got!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered", weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).
I try to be one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically using the UK RRPG standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and i'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!
I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!
Title : The Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones (Selftitled Debut)Label & year : Original "Unboxed" Decca LK 4605 LP , OUTRAGEOUSLY RARE Mono 1964 TRUE UK WITHDRAWN 1st Press with 2:52 Tell Me!!!
Matrix's : Side A : XARL-6271-1A , Side B : XARL-6272-1A (EARLIEST EVER!!!)
WELL HERE IT IS - THE VERY RAREST STONES LP EVER COMMERCIALLY RELEASED!!! CONTAINS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RECORDING OF "TELL ME", THE VERY FIRST JAGGER RICHARDS SONG TO EVER BE RELEASED!!! BARELY ANY OF THESE EVER ESCAPED THE PRESSING PLANT!!!
I COULD GO ON ABOUT THE SHEER RARITY OF THIS FOR ENDLESS PARAGRAPHS, THOUGH ALL YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW IS THAT THIS HOVERS AROUND THE SUMMIT OF THE "RECORD COLLECTOR TOP 100 RAREST RECORDS OF ALL TIME" LIST, AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UNTIL THE WORLD BLOWS UP!!!
In the frenzy of launching the first ever LP of the iconic band that would eventually go on to be the biggest and best in the world, someone at Decca mistakenly used an earlier take of Tell Me on the master instead of the re-recording that we all know and love (though in my opinion, this earlier version is probably better)!!! This was noticed JUST after pressing had begun and was IMMEDIATELY repressed with the correct 4:06 take, resulting in this being THE very rarest commercially released Stones LP out there!!! And not only that, this record is the ONLY time this version of Tell Me has EVER been issued!!!
SO HARD TO FIND THIS HISTORIC MILESTONE IN ROCK WITH THE EARLIEST EVER 1A 1A MATRIXES!!! Do NOT miss out on this, for it may be a VERY long time before a highly sought after 1A 1A example comes around again...
Tracklist : Route 66, I Just Want To Make Love To You, Honest I Do, I Need You Baby, Now I've Got A Witness (Like Uncle Phil and Uncle Gene), Little By Little, I'm A King Bee, Carol, Tell Me (You're Coming Back), Can I Get A Witness, You Can Make It If You Try, and Walking The Dog.
Musicians : Mick Jagger - Vocals, Keith Richard - Guitar, Charlie Watts - Drums, Bill Wyman - Bass, Brian Jones - Guitar and everything else!, and Andrew Loog Oldham - Producer.
Trivia : This was the first band who had the balls to not put their name on the front of their debut LP!!!
About : Impossibly Rare Original 1964 WITHDRAWN UK 1st Press!!! This MASSIVELY RARE LP initially sold literally next to NOTHING (it never got the chance to) and had a MINISCULE run, and is UNBELIEVABLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND, especially in this condition!!! An absolute classic debut LP from the greatest rock & roll band of all time!!! An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be the centrepiece of EVERY serious 60's record collection!!! Don't miss out on this PHENOMENALLY RARE LP!!! If you like good music and owning a priceless piece of history, bid now!!!
The LP :
Labels :
Classic UK 1964 red ridged "Unboxed" Decca 1st Press labels!!! Both sides are GREAT with only relatively minor signs of age, and NO writing whatsoever!!! Just has some minor sticker remains on one side and just some light spindle marking from general use over the years!!! GREAT for a 48 year old record!!! Both must grade overall as Good!!!
Record : Visual -
Spectacular Original Decca WITHDRAWN 1964 UK 1st Press Vinyl!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks GOOD with NO excessively nasty marks, NO deep scratches that ruin playback, and NO viscious scuffs either!!! It just has quite a few of the usual light, wispy sleeve traces, some obvious but still fairly light scratches, and a few mild non-sounding hairlines mostly from where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! Of course, none of these blemishes interfere with play AT ALL, and they CERTAINLY don't effect the smoothness of it's playing!!! Well used, but still GREAT for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall visually as Good!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me) Record : Audio - Thankfully, it plays BRILLIANTLY with fantastic mono blast and clarity!!! It really sounds great with NO hops, hisses, sticks OR skips!!! Only (like pretty much all records) has a touch of low level static in places such as on the run in grooves, maybe the rarest odd light non repetitive click now and then, only a hint of frequency crackle here and there (incredibly mild and takes a very well trained ear to spot it) and just a touch of mild "bluesman's fag" crackle and pop in few and far between places such as on some of the quieter sections and between tracks, but it really doesn't overshadow the music AT ALL!!! (it's much more soft and atmospheric rather than the sound of bacon frying!!!) I'd even argue it gives it added soul!!! I tend to bring it down by listing every single flaw I noticed, but this remains a hugely enjoyable and clean sounding listen - The music is TRULY loud and clear with that bass, depth, warmth and clarity you can only get from UK 1st Press vinyl, and the Tell Me track itself sounds GREAT!!! AMAZING for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audiably as Very Good!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me) Sleeve : Original UK 1st press front laminated "Printed in England" flipback sleeve complete with original inner!!! IMPOSSIBLE to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT, and looks GREAT, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO splits, NO really bad marks AT ALL, and still ULTRA strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has a few minor signs of usual ageing such as some light creases, a touch of ringwear and a little laminate lifting here and there, some mild dulling and general light ageing to the unlaminated white back (absolutely nothing drastic at all - no coffee cup rings, nasty stains OR graffiti!!!) and a small segment missing from the centre of the opening (it's the only thing which stops me grading this higher), a touch of denting to the four corners which basically ALL vintage LP's have, and POSSIBLY (just to be sure!!!) one or two other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all!!! And that's truly about it!!! I tend to bring it down by emphasizing all the negatives I can possibly find, but this is a GREAT sleeve, and a TRUE rarity to find one as clean, presentable, and strong as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! It remains strong, solid, unsplit and unspoilt, and even the spine remains strong, solid, unsplit, and 100% readable!!! Must grade overall as Good!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)Summary : A well used, but still a BRILLIANT playing example of this UNBELIEVABLY RARE classic WITHDRAWN UK 1964 1st Press LP!!! You simply can't find this in ANY condition, so to find a 1A 1A example as GREAT as this is a TRUE rarity indeed!!! YOU MAY NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN, so don't miss out on this chance to own a true piece of 60's music history!!! Bid now!!!
Please take a look at all my other auctions for many other ultra rare classic LPs, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks again for looking, it's truly appreciated!! Cheers!!!I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
