MEGARARE original Rolling Stones Records very first STEREO press released, edited and distributed in Chile in 1975 by Asociación Fonográfica Nacional “ASFONA”, M.R. (ASFONA Records), licensed from The Rolling Stones Records, U.S.A., catalog number COC-79102 with orange/black Rolling Stones Records labels, with hand etched matrix numbers COC-79102-A CD/AG in Side A and COC-79102-B CD/AG in Side B. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of both sides it’s written the date of pressing, “11/8/75” (August 11th of 1975)!!! Yes, WHAT A FIND!!! Another rare Chilean press of a great album!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

“MADE IN THE SHADE” was originally released in June 1975 and the same year, in August, we could see this classic compilation album released here and we got it with an UNIQUE flipback COVER!!! Cover is made of two single sheets of thin cardboard with back cover pasted on the flips of front cover. But in this case the cover has an outer plastic bag, you can see in the inside the flips of front cover so clean that it seems the back cover was never glued on them. I don’t really know if this outer plastic bag is original or if some past owner had the idea to use it to protect the cover. Front and back cover keep keep strictly the original artwork, with album title and tracklist written in English only, with the only difference that at top right corner in front cover is the ASFONA Records logo and at bottom left corner in back cover is the “EL DISCO ES CULTURA” (The Record Is Culture) logo and ASFONA Records information. In labels the album title and tracklist are also written in English only with full credits for songwriters and all the other text in Spanish only. As many times in some classic rock albums, this time we can also see an error in this very first press of “Made In The Shade” made in Chile, the song “Dance Little Sister”, correctly written in back cover it’s misspelled “Dance Little GIRL” in label!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND from Chile!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition, clean and complete, with no writings, no seam splits or rips, light creases and general wear in edges, with a rounded stamp from some past owner in back cover, the outer plastic bag has worked very well, so it’s a good idea to keep it. The record, however, is in VG- or VG condition both sides, glossy and clean but with loads of light scuffs and hairlines and some minimal light scratches, with a notorious warp affecting part of the first song in each side, which incredibly don’t affect play at all. Labels are in absolute EX or EX+ condition both sides, with only minimal wear in the spindle hole and the same rounded stamp of the back cover. The sound is in great VG+ or EX- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a light background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some minimal occasional soft crackles here and there, more evident in the silent parts and between the tracks, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a nice record with an UNIQUE COVER and date of pressing hand etched in the deadwax and UNIQUE ERROR, with still a very glossy look and a great sound quality after 39 years, not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but a record to hear and enjoy entirely, no repetitions, no sticks, no jumps, no distortions at all. Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
