Description

Hi, and welcome to psych_out! auctions!!!
I've collected 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between for all my life!!! Obviously, 90% of the LP's I've ever gotten hold of are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? Reluctantly, I've decided to offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!! I'm currently trying to set up a record label so unfortunately personal sacrifices have to be made when it comes to my collection, resulting in GREAT benefits for all you shrewd bidders and serious connosieurs of TRUE solid gold music history out there!!! Make no mistake, I'll try my best to consistently offer some of the VERY BEST records available on ebay, many which have taken me YEARS to find!!!
I aim to put a weekly batch up (time permitting) every Wednesday, all timed to end 10 days later on Saturday night. I'll only ever offer THE BESTMOST AMAZINGMOST IMPORTANTVERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I've got!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered",weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).
I try to be one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically using the UK RRPG standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and I'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!
I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!

An incredible album, just look at the track line up! Quite simply one of THE very best Stones album of ALL TIME!!! This is magnificent, this is a masterpiece, and it's their first LP of 100% Jagger/Richards originals! Definitely one of my favourite LP's ever. What makes it so amazing is that it contains pure magic!! You can tell it's all from the same session, as each track has got a really distinct flavour. This was where the Stones went from being a great blues band, to true revolutionaries who helped guide rock music to where it is today!!!

Really this is Brian Jones's album, as every track has his signature all over it. From his Dulcimer, through his Harpsichord, to his Sitar - this is the record he put his soul into. Absolutely phenomenal!!!

Tracklist : Mother's Little Helper, Stupid Girl, Lady Jane, Under My Thumb, Doncha Bother Me, Goin' Home, Flight 505, High And Dry, Out Of Time, It's Not Easy, I Am Waiting, Take It Or Leave It, Think, and What To Do.

Musicians : Mick Jagger - Vocals, Keith Richard - Guitar, Charlie Watts - Drums, Bill Wyman - Bass, Brian Jones - Guitar and everything else!, and Andrew Loog Oldham - Producer.

Trivia : This was the first ever Stones album where they wrote EVERY song!!! Also, i'd argue that punk was invented on the outro to Mother's Little Helper!!! ("Oi!")

About : Ultra Rare Original 1966 SHADOW SLEEVE UK 1st Press!!! This MASSIVELY RARE LP initially sold barely anything (LP's were also really expensive to most people back then!!!) and therefore had a very small run, and is INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND, especially in this condition!!! AN absolute classic LP from this incredible band!!! An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be in EVERY serious 60's / 70's record collection!!! Don't miss out on this MEGA RARE LP!!! If you like good music, bid now!!!

The LP :

Labels :

Classic UK 1st Press red ridged "Unboxed” Decca labels!!! Both sides are GREAT with minimal signs of age, NO stickers, and NO tears whatsoever!!! Just has a small name on side A and some light spindle marks from general use over the years!!! BRILLIANT for a 59 year old record!!! Both must grade overall as Very Good!!!

Record : Visual -

Spectacular Original 1966 UK 1st Press Vinyl!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if it was just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks GREAT with NO really nasty scratches, groovewear, or nasty deep scuffs whatsoever!!! The only blemishes are just some light wispy sleeve traces, a few mild hairlines and age marks, and just a small amount of cosmetic non-sounding and unfeelable scuffs (only visible in direct angled light) mostly caused from where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! Of course, none of these ULTRA light blemishes really interfere with play AT ALL thanks to the deeply pressed quality!!! BRILLIANT for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall at least as Very Good minus!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Record : Audio -

Thankfully, it plays BRILLIANTLY with fantastic mono blast and clarity!!! It really sounds GREAT with NO hops, distortion, sticks, or skips!!! Only (like pretty much all records) has low level static in places such as on the run in grooves, a few ticks here and there on occasions and a hint of mild and light "bluesman's fag" static in few and far between places such as on some of the quieter sections, but it truly doesn't overshadow the music AT ALL!!! I'd even argue it gives it added soul!!! A GREAT listen - The music is TRULY loud and clear with that bass, depth, warmth and clarity you can only get from UK 1st Press vinyl!!! Absolutely essential!!! BRILLIANT for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audiably at least as Very Good+!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Sleeve :

Original UK 1966 1st press front laminated mono Robert Stace WITHDRAWN SHADOW sleeve complete with original unsplit “patent applied for” inner!!! IMPOSSIBLE to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT, and looks fantastic, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO tears, NO bad marks AT ALL, NO coffee cup rings OR any of the usual grubbiness, and still ULTRA strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has a few signs of usual mild ageing such as some light creasing and a touch of a record imprint, just a small neat name to the top left of the back and only a little ultra light general minor age toning to the unlaminated white back (absolutely nothing drastic at all - NO ugly grubbiness whatsoever!!!), a touch of denting to the four corners which basically ALL vintage LP's have, and POSSIBLY (just to be sure!!!) one or two other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all!!! And that's truly about it!!! I tend to bring it down by emphasizing the negatives, but despite a little ageing, this remains a PHENOMENAL sleeve, and a TRUE rarity to find one as beautifully presentable and as clean and undamaged as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! It remains ultra strong, solid, unsplit and unspoilt, and even the spine remains ultra strong, solid, unsplit, and 100% readable!!! Must grade overall at the least as Very Good+!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Summary : An AWESOME example of this OUTSTANDING piece of Stones history - the OUTRAGEOUSLY RARE WITHDRAWN SHADOW SLEEVE Mono classic 1966 UK 1st Press LP!!! UNBELIEVABLY HARD TO FIND, ESPECIALLY AS FANTASTIC AS THIS!!! YOU MAY NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN, so don't miss out on this scarce opportunity to own a true piece of 60's/70's music history!!! Bid now!!!

I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
