This original record from 1968 is in Excellent condition.  The cover is in VG condition, overall minor wear, a little creasing, punch hole in upper left corner.  Plain inner sleeve.

A lost link in the saga of West Coast rock, LA’s Rockets cut one LP in 1968 for White Whale Records before core members guitarist Danny Whitten, bassist Billy Talbot, and drummer Ralph Molina signed on with Neil Young for the recording of Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere and became Crazy Horse.

But despite the Rockets’ brief life, their rare, self-titled LP is no mere rock ’n’ roll footnote. Lashed with the keening, unsettled lines of electric violinist Bobby Notkoff and brimming with crunching blues rock (“Mr. Chips,” “Pills Blues”), acid-doused meanderings (“Let Me Go,” “Stretch Your Skin”), and sunny, melodic pop (“I Won’t Always Be Around”), The Rockets is a solid and underrated late-’60s gem that represents a formative chapter of the Neil Young/Crazy Horse story.

All records are professionally cleaned with the VPI 16.5 Record Cleaner. All records are covered in a 3 mil poly record jacket sleeve for protection and storage and shipped in sturdy album mailers with filler pads.  I will ship within 24 hours of receiving cleared payment (excluding Sundays and Holidays).

GOLDMINE GRADING SYSTEM

MINT -- It should appear to be perfect.  No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writings, tears or splits, mint means perfect.

NEAR MINT -- Otherwise mint but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws that do not affect play.  Covers should be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident:  Slight ring wear, minor corner wear, or writing on the cover should all be noted properly.

VERY GOOD PLUS/EXCELLENT -- The record has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully.  There may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of sleeve.  A slight warp or slight mark that does not affect play would be acceptably VG+/EX for most collectors.  A VG+/EX cover should have only minor wear.

VERY GOOD -- Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails.  Some audible surface noise may be present, but it should not overwhelm the musical experience.  Usually a cover is VG when one or two of these problems are evident:  Ring wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, stains, etc.

GOOD -- Well played with little luster and significant surface noise.  Despite defects, record should still play all the way through without skipping.  Several cover flaws will be apparent.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:  Shipping/Handling Fees:  The charges for shipping USPS First Class Mail International is by exact weight.  I charge exactly what the Postal Service Charges.  I also charge a small handling fee for the packaging and delivering to the Post Office.  I cannot discount shipping rates.  Please email for a quote when purchasing more than one record.
