THE QUIK: Bert's Apple Crumble/Love Is A Beautiful Thing (1967 UK Deram 45 DM 121)
For auction an an original copy of the impossibly rare Mod dance classic "Bert's Apple Crumble' by The Quik. In many decades of collecting this is the only copy of this powerful churning groove I have ever come across. What a sound! And, frankly, you will either know what this is or you won't! Beat collectors most certainly will.
Though, technically, 'Love Is A Beautiful Thing' is the A Side, and is an organ driven top tune in itself, it didn't take long for those few in the 1967 nightclub know to flip it over and discover as driving a dance instrumental as was ever pressed up. This is the track that serious collectors search for. There's not a lot of The Summer Of Love in this tough banger!
This is a great copy too, real VG+ and while there are numerous hairlines NOTHING serious, totally superficial, and the disc plays bold and loud without any clicks distortion or (God Forbid) jumps. I just played it and it is as forceful, hard and pounding as it should be. When those drums break in it still nearly knocks you over!
The Deram labels are bright and tidy, very minor wear and free from any rips, writing or sticker damage. 
The Quik only last for a couple of months that summer 54 years ago - but oh what a noise they left behind. Bravo boys.
