THE PRETTY THINGS - PARACHUTE LP (RARE EARTH RS 515) (1970) (VG++/VG++)

·      BAND: Legendary UK Psychedelic band…

·      TOTAL OUTPUT: MANY LP’s & singles.  This was their 6TH LP, chosen as Rolling Stone Magazine’s Album of the Year in 1970.

·      PRESSING: First US Pressing, 1970.

·      LABEL: Rare Earth (Orange with “Tree” logo and black lettering) (RS 515)

·      MATRIX RUNOUT NUMBERS (Etched):  A: (HS-1765-2) B: (HS-1765-2) (Also has other stamped and etched catalog numbers that are voided with a line through them.  This was apparently done on this entire pressing)

·      CONDITION: FRONT COVER: VG++ (Extremely minor ring-wear. Top seam has no wear, one tiny nick, and no splits. Bottom seam has minor wear and no splits. Spine has minor wear with no impact to the lettering.  The top right portion of the cover has a minor bend from sticker removal. GATFOLD VG++ (Has some moderate wear on inside seam.)

·      CONDITION: BACK COVER: VG++ (Same as front cover.)

·      CONDITION: DUST JACKET SLEEVE: Generic.

·      CONDITION: VINYL: Plays with minimal surface noise on quiet passages and has overall audio grade of VG++.

NOTE: My LP’s are visually graded with the exception of two sound samples from the first songs on each side which can be heard with the links provided below.

Hi folks, this is Velvetfogg, founder of the U-SPACES music collective which ran from 1997 to 2020 on Yahoogroups.  I try to list records on Sundays, some Auction and some Buy It Now.

GRADING SCALE:

NM/M: Played once or twice. No visible surface or playback wear.

EX: Has been played but has no scratches, minimal to no wear and plays without surface noise.

EX- Plays without surface noise, but might have a few visible minor scratches.

VG++: May have a few surface scratches or a little wear, but plays nicely with only minimal surface noise and clicks.

VG+: "Typical used record".  A little wear, a few minor (light) scratches, but plays well. Surface noise may be more present during soft passages. No Skips

VG: More wear and significant surface noise. Deeper scratches. May have a skip.

G: Significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear. (Beat up record!) May have skips.

(All LP’s are visually-graded with sound samples being provided for the first song on each side.)

LP’s ship via USPS Priority Mail Cubic (domestic) or USPS First Class International. Professional cardboard 45 mailers will be used with proper bubble packing.
