THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT SETS OF THE BEATLES COLLECTION(not including the msfl set)! the orginal, 1st generation sets are quite rare but easy to tell from later sets. firstly, the original has a much darker, smoother texture. secondly, the original box has no "rivets" on the sides like on the second generation sets. Finally, the first generation IS A NUMBERED SET!!! the number is found on the left front just below the fold down lid. it also has "limited edition" and listing of albums stickers. both are included with this set. i bought this set new on 12/28/1978. my set is #2032. the story goes that emi made 3000 sets for executives, reps, etc. a few got into the publics hands- i have one. all british albums included along with the rarities album. all inserts etc included and are pristine. all albums are in thick polymer sleeves to prevent rubbing. slight wear along sides of box. i can't remember, but i think i may have played them once. on high end equipment. don't settle for the 1982 release- get the real deal! note: this is the british release of the set and DOES NOT contain " magical mystery tour" album. it was not released as an album in england, only as an E.P., hence it's not included. ratings - box excellent, albums near mint. thanks for looking and happy bidding!
