THE LITTLE RIVER BAND – BBC TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES

RECORD - IN CONCERT NO. 269

 

This disc is a very rare BBC Transcription Services original recording of The Little River Band in a live concert in 1982.

These records are very rare. They were never on general release and because they are original recordings of live concerts by the BBC, the sound quality is superb.

They were recorded for transmission on overseas radio stations who paid an annual subscription to the BBC for a selection of programmes, some of which were originated by Transcription Services, and others were a pick of the best from BBC Radio.  They were able to use them as often as they liked until the usage license expired and after expiry, these discs were then mostly binned.  Hence their rarity…….

This particular concert was recorded in 1982 and usage expired in May 1986, although this disc looks like it’s never been played – it’s in excellent condition.
