Description
THE KINKS - ARTHUR, PYE NPL 18317, RARE EARLY STEREO EXAMPLE???
Over the next few weeks I am selling my husbands old vinyl (and a few he has been given along the way) and then mine, they have not been played for over 25 years, as we have not had a record player and therefore I can only comment on them visually, no idea of how they would play. I am not going to attempt to clean them as I have no idea of the best way to do that. Bear in mind I can only say what I see, not a dealer and not an expert - happy to answer any questions that I am able to.
THE KINKS - ARTHUR, PYE NPL 18317
An interesting and presumably rare record - as stated we do not have a record player and therefore cannot check whether this is stereo or not.
From what I have read I am presuming that NPL is normally mono, however on the runout on Side 2 is stamped NPL 18317 B-2 *T STEREO, Side 1 is stamped NPL 18317 A-1 *T - interesting??
The laminated gatefold sleeve has wear to the corners, the spine is quite squashed and the laminated surface is lifting in places, the inner spine edges are worn, the back is discoloured and there is a tear to the bottom right on the outer surface only - printed with NPL18317 to top right corner.
Queen Victoria is in very good condition with just a little wear to the tab and below and a mark at the bottom of the lyrics, a little feint creasing.
White sleeve with plastic inner, patent number printed, some marks on the bottom edge, a pen scribble at the top.
The record NPL18317 with the runout as mentioned above, on side 2 there is some wear to the label at the edge and on some of the printing, runout as mentioned above. The record needs a good clean, there is quite a bit of surface scratching visible.
As stated happy to answer any questions or receive any information.
Thanks for looking.
