LAST TIME OF LISTING BEFORE I LOOK AT OTHER AVENUES....AND REDUCED BY ANOTHER £70!!!
ANOTHER ONE OF THE COLLECTION FOR SALE....RELUCTANTLY!! I HAVE MORE LISTED SEE MY OTHER ITEMS.
VERY RARE...THE IVORYS "PLEASE STAY" 12266-A
ON THE ORIGINAL DESPENZA LABEL, A SMALL LABEL FROM CHICAGO BEFORE THE TRACK WAS PURCHASED BY THE WAND LABEL!
WAND COPIES ARE £3000+ IF YOU FIND ONE. THERE ARE 3 COPIES ON DESPENZA, TWO OF WHICH WERE DESPANZA IN CAPITAL LETTERS (NE THINNER THAN THE OTHER) THIS HOWEVER IS THE SLIGHTLY RARER IN ITALLIC "SCRIPT" WRITING.
"The Ivorys were a female vocal group from Chicago and consisted of Marilyn McThune, Carol Samuel and Angela Sanford. Principally session artists, who also plied their trade as Marilyn and The Mandellas and the Symplistics, they did have one seminal recording "Please Stay" / "I'm In A Groove" that was released in 1967 on Barry Despenza's self-named label before being picked up by Wand (WND 1152). Whilst the Despenza release is very difficult to find, the Wand release (as the Ivories) is off the scale on the rarity-o-meter with only a handful of copies being discovered. Pulsating, up-tempo soul that is a confirmed classic on the UK northern soul scene"

JUST 2 SNIPPETS IVE FOUND REGARDING THE SONG....ALTHOUGH THOSE IN THE KNOW WILL KNOW JUST HOW RARE THIS IS.
CONDITION IS VERY GOOD, LABEL IS UNMARKED, THE RECORD HAS A GOOD SHEEN WITH ONLY THE NORMAL LIGHT SCUFFS THAT HOWEVER DOESNT AFFECT THE PLAYING OF IT. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF POPS ON THE INPLAY WHICH DISAPPEAR BEFORE THE RECORD STARTS....
