This Songbook was first published in 1969 and features all of the songs from the band's Hangman’s Beautiful Daughter and 5000 Spirits albums as well as songs from their first album and Big Huge and Wee Tam recordings.
Includes 8 rare photos, an introductory history of the band and musical analysis by Happy Traum. The Title says there are 34 songs but I count 36 songs included in this 112-page book.
The quality of the musical transcription is first rate, vastly above the norm for popular music. Happy Traum has included sung melody, guitar chords and tuning (most of the songs make use of weird guitar tunings, so the chord shapes, which are given, are totally strange).
A GREAT RESOURCE FOR THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO FAITHFULLY REPRODUCE THE MUSIC OF THIS TRULY INNOVATIVE AND UNIQUE BAND.
