THE IDLE RACE “The Birthday Party” orig UK Pop Psych lp!

1968/USA/Liberty LST-7603….here’s a clean original pressing of their scarce first lp of UK toy town psych.  The cool psychedelic cover is in strong VG++ condition with light corner wear, 1/4" top seam split starting at opening edge, the white back shows slight aging on outer edges and a slight touch of soiling, no delete or other issues and looks great. The vinyl is in strong VG++ condition with full gloss and just very few super light inaudible hairline sleeve scuffs. A great copy for your collection. Please check my auctions for other psych lp’s. The Birthday Party was the first album by The Idle Race, a psychedelic pop band, released in 1968. This quasi-concept album was the first to be composed almost entirely of songs by a young Birmingham guitarist/singer named Jeff Lynne. The LP came in a gatefold sleeve, the first of its kind since the Beatles' Sgt Pepper album. In the U.S. the cover art was different with a rather psychedelic-styled paisley pattern behind the band. While warmly received by critics, the record failed to chart in the U.K. or the U.S.

MINT: as stated with no defects

NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
