Description
Artist/Title: The Germs "Forming" Original 1st Pressing
Format: 7"
Label: What Records
Year: 1977
Country/State: United States [California]
Tracks:
A1. Forming
B1. The Germs Live
Notes: First pressing of the first Germs 7". Primitive and classic 1977 Los Angeles punk rock by Darby Crash and company. Now's your chance to get a copy of this truly "formative" release in great shape, with original sleeve. Has rare lyrics insert "(published by Lexitron Music/ASCAP)", in perfect condition!
Condition:
[Sleeve]: EX- Some ring wear. A bit of ruffling. What Records? address listed on the back. Contact me for high-res scans.
[Vinyl - Visual]: EX+ Disc looks very clean. One or two very minor surface scuffs. Does not effect play. In great condition for it's age.
[Vinyl - Audio]: EX Sounds excellent for its age. A little surface noise, but this is not exactly a high-fidelity recording!
About My Auctions:
I will be auctioning off many more rare and ultrarare punk 7"s and LPs. Primarily US and Canadian punk, 1977-1982. Lots of Killed By Death, Back To Front, Smash The State, Bloodstains etc. featured rarities. I will also be putting up a lot of EXTREMELY obscure Texas punk, including the original Vomit Pigs "Take One" EP, Bodysnatchers, Really Red, Ideals, Uncalled 4, Bobby Soxx, etc. Canadian stuff I will be listing in the future includes extreme rarities such as Arson "Coho, Coho?" (never listed on eBay), The Fits "Bored Of Education", Vancouver Subhumans stuff, and other ultra-rare Canadian punk. Rare California punk I will be listing includes Authorities, Plugz (including their first 7" on Slash Records), Germs, Fear, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Tazers, etc. Lots of stuff from the Bloodstains Across California compilation. Also, lots of original Dangerhouse records, including Avengers with Crucifixion sleeve, Randoms, The Bags, Dils, Weirdos, YES LA picture disc and color vinyl Dangerhouse releases. Also, I have a few original Misfits 7"s and LPs that will be going up. I will also be listing some rare California punk records from the 1986 to 1992 range, including the first two AFI 7"s, rare Operation Ivy stuff, and really rare East Bay punk stuff, including the very rare Crimpshrine "Lame Gig Contest" LP.
A lot of the items that I will be listing are extremely rare records, and may never be seen on eBay again. Keep checking my eBay auctions for new stuff and bid away!
Vinyl is graded under good lighting. Audio grading is done with studio monitor headphones and an expensive Ortofon X5-MC, which brings out ALL defects! If you would like a high-res scan of the sleeve, audio samples, or vinyl matrix numbers, please contact me. Grading is extremely conservative.
International bidders encouraged!
I would like to make a correction to this listing. This is actually the SECOND pressing on What Records. The insert and sleeve are identical to the first pressing, but the vinyl states "45 RPM" on it rather than "True Mono", as you can see in the picture. Still, a very rare record, and definately a legit What Records second pressing ( and not a bootleg ).

I will put up a scan of the insert that is included later tonight. On Jun-20-05 at 05:10:15 PDT, seller added the following information:
Ebay does not seem to want to allow me to add a picture of the insert to the gallery. Please contact me if you would like me to send you a scan of the insert. Thanks!
