THE FUNKEES - POINT OF NO RETURN - AFRO FUNK MUSIC (AMBA RECORDS NIGERIA, 1975) rarely seen on nigerian press it's usually the French or English copy that comes up for auction. 5 tracks of heavy afro-beat and Afro-funk from this eastern Nigerian band that settled in the UK in the late 70's. they re-formed about 2 years ago with many of the original members doing 2 shows here in the UK and prompting a guest appearance of Sonny Akpabio on the Quantic track "Use what you got" on the Mishaps Happening LP. Sleeve has some minor ringwear but genarlly in great shape - VG++ to EX. Vinyl was unplayed store stock until I checked it and cleaned some light humidity moisture from the inner sleeve. (a common problem for African records that live in such humid conditions) EX to VG++ (Plays fine) Check my other Nigerian records in the coming days.
