THE END “My Confession” RARE 1981 Aussie indie 7” dark & brooding punk DIED PRETTY
The End – My Confession 7” (orig. Australia EMI Custom STEREO 13199, with silk screen picture sleeve & hand-written labels)
Release date: September 1981. Recording dates: May & August 1981.
On offer here is an ULTRA RARE original issue of the only release (independent 7” single) by Brisbane-based PUNK band, THE END. There were ONLY 300 COPIES pressed back in the day, but most of these are long gone. Apparently the singer/guitarist was a huge VELVET UNDERGROUND fan. You can certainly hear some of that influence in these recordings. Brett Myers, Jonathan Lickliter and Colin Barwick became founding members of DIED PRETTY after THE END split-up in 1983.
On a collector’s note, the wrap-around silk screen picture sleeve & hand-written record labels gives the impression that this release was a DIY job.
