AN ORIGINAL MONOPHONIC COPY OF THE DOORS' "STRANGE DAYS" LP IS RARER THAN HEN'S TEETH (AND LESS UNSANITARY IN MOST CASES!). FINDING A COPY THAT HASN'T BEEN DESTROYED BY AN OVERZEALOUS TEENAGE FAN IS EVEN MORE DIFFICULT - BUT HERE IT IS!

WE'VE JUST FINISHED PLAYING THE WHOLE ALBUM AND IT IS IN GLORIOUS CONDITION, PLAYING WITH VIRTUALLY NO SURFACE NOISE WHATSOEVER - EVEN BETWEEN TRACKS! JIM'S VOCALS - WHICH ARE FRONT AND CENTER AND UNBELIEVABLY LIVE-SOUNDING - ROBBIE'S SNAKELIKE GUITAR, RAY'S BAROQUE KEYBOARD AND JOHN'S EXPLOSIVE DRUMS SOUND INCREDIBLE!!

ONE OF THE REASONS THAT PEOPLE CLAMOR FOR THE MONO PRESS OF THIS LANDMARK ALBUM IS THAT, SINCE STEREO HAD OVERTAKEN MUCH OF THE MARKET BY 1967, THEY ARE JUST SO HARD TO FIND. BUT THE OTHER REASON THAT PEOPLE STEAL FROM THEIR MOM'S HANDBAG TO BUY A COPY IS CUZ IT SOUNDS SO FRICKIN' GOOD - AND TOTALLY DIFFERENT - IN MONO!!!

HERE ARE THE SPECIFICS:
The cover is in VG+ condition: there is a tiny diagonal cut in the upper left corner about 1/4" in length, the very edge of the bottom right corner is dented and there is light ringwear.

The album includes the inner sleeve (pictured above) which features a photo of the band on one side and the complete lyrics on the other.

And then there's the vinyl. Though not MINT, the condition of the LP is EXCELLENT with only one light scuff visible on side 1. As described above, the record plays BEAUTIFULLY without any surface noise EVEN DURING THE QUIETEST PASSAGES! "When The Music's Over", with its many sound modulations from intensely loud to shockingly quiet, plays flawlessly - as does the rest of the album!

In summary, this is your chance to pick one of the Doors' rarest albums in great shape. and remember, (s)he who hesitates, loses!!!

Be advised that Zingg Music ships overseas at buyer's risk. We cannot and will not refund payment for damaged or missing items when shipping outside the US. Please understand that shipping overseas through USPS can take up to 8 weeks. Also, we cannot track orders through USPS, and in the event that an order is lost, we cannot start a claim for 75 days with an additional four weeks for processing. An additional layer of shipping safety can be obtained by registering your item for an additional $8.
Due to fraud percentages, we reserve the right to decline overseas credit card payments.

PLEASE NOTE: We have set our shipping prices to cover costs on an average basis. You may be charged more - or less - than the actual cost of postage; Priority postage varies according to destination, records and jackets vary in weight, all of which makes it impossible to set an exact "correct" price for all customers, especially internationally. We ship all LP's in new (unused) custom LP mailers. We pack records with filler pads, placing the disc in an inner sleeve outside the cover to prevent seam splitting in transit. Part of our postage fee covers the cost of the mailer and pads (which currently costs us up to a dollar each).

Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.

RECORD GRADING POLICY

MINT = like new or near new with only one or two small insignificant defects, a 9 or better on a 1-10 scale

EXCELLENT = Would be Near Mint, except for a couple of light hairlines or scuffs, which do not affect play

VG++ = still a very nice record with all or nearly all of its original gloss but may have a few more light, surface marks, hairlines, needle tracks or the like which should not materially affect play

VG+ = a nice, but used record that may have a series of light scuffs or scratches. It probably plays with a few pops, but has no serious problems.

VG = a well-used record that still should sound OK when played, but may have moderate surface noise, pops, etc.

VG- = a very well-worn record that plays through without skipping, but will do until a better copy comes along.

Good = not actually good at all but probably will play through but with much in the way of surface noise, pops, crackles, etc. Still, will have no cracks, chips or the like

Fair = you’re getting this record just to own but not to play

Poor = the sky’s the limit, generally I will discard a record this bad (and sell the cover, jacket or sleeve alone) unless the label holds some particular interest

On Wed. 8/30 I added a bonus to the auction: the poster of Mr. Mojo Risin' from Quill Magazine(?) that you see in the second photo from the top. It is in VG condition with tears at the corners and scotch tape. It measures approx. 18" x 24".
