Description
I've been collecting vinyl records for the past 9 years and have decided to put many of them up for sale over the next 6 weeks. Most are highly collectible and with few exceptions, were purchased new and never played.
Extreme care was taken to preserve their integrity. The plastic wrapping that albums get shipped in was removed as to reduce or prevent ring-ware on the outer sleeve. The records were then placed in a high-quality Classic Records' inner-sleeve and placed behind the outer sleeve at which point both were inserted into a 6mm protective sleeve (see pic). This method allows the records to be easily removed without having to tamper with the original inner/outer sleeves thus preventing seam splits and greatly minimizing normal handling ware. These were then stored in a record rack with ample room in a clean, smokeless and otherwise odorless, temperature controlled room.
As with any record, mine could likely benefit from a professional cleaning to bring out their full sonic capabilities (http://bit.ly/LPcleaning). I never did this because I lacked a system to play them on. That being said, they may arrive with some minor fingerprints, dust and/or markings simply from the manufacturing process, storage and/or handling. The lucky owner should administer their own cleaning technique to take them one step closer to analog excellence. Even so, I will try to be as descriptive as possible with each listing.
DESCRIPTION
- Up for your consideration is my prized Doors Vinyl Box. This 2008 USA exclusive limited edition 7-LP set compiles their 6 studio albums released between 1967 & 1971 and also includes the rare mono mix LP of their debut. Each disc is presented as an exact replica of the original, including artwork, with the set housed in a deluxe individually numbered faux lizard-skin metallic embossed box with this one being amongst the first 500 pressed (00426/12500). This must-have set was mastered by Bernie Grundman at RTI (widely considered America's best LP manufacturing facility) on 180 gram HQ vinyl and supervised by Jac Holzman & Bruce Botnick.

- The plastic wrapping around the box was removed. It is in otherwise like-new condition with none of the LPs having ever been played or handled...:)
