Description

THE DAMNED "STRETCHER CASE BABY" c/w "SICK OF BEING SICK" Rare 7" Stiff Single. Vinyl Record and Sleeve are used, but both in "EXCELLENT" Condition. This Record was given away at THE DAMNED's First Anniversary Gigs at The Marquee, then in Wardour Street. We were there on the 3rd July 1977, which is why we still have the record. Apparently, there were 5,000 copies made. Those not given away at the gigs (they also played the following night) - The Marquee couldn't hold more than a few hundred people, and then it was very hot and steamy, I can tell you - were given to Fan Club members and as prizes in an NME crossword.
A new version of "Stretcher Case Baby" called "Stretcher Case" was cut with Nick Mason producing (instead of legendary '60's producer, Shel Talmy as on this single) for the group's second LP "Music For Pleasure".
