Description

THE BEATLES Yellow Submarine (Parlophone PCS 7070) RARE UK 1st Pressing Red Lines + Inner MINT-
RARE very first UK stereo pressing of The Beatles soundtrack album "Yellow Submarine" on Apple Records (January 1969).
This is the earliest stereo version of the first pressing that includes black inner sleeve, standard Apple labels with ‘Sold in U.K.’ statement, and red lines above and below the sleeve notes on the back of sleeve. Also, there are no printers credits ("Garrod & Lofthouse") on the bottom flipback, making this specific issue an even rarer find!
"There were albums which weren't any good as far as I was concerned, like 'Yellow Submarine'." - George Harrison, Crawdaddy  Magazine (1977).
GRADING:

EX++ to MINT- COVER. Original front-laminated sleeve in pristine condition. Please see photos for details.
- The spine has five small ceases in the bottom half of the front cover, as shown.
- Front cover with small corner crease (at bottom right). Other than that, the cover is pretty much perfect.
- Tri-fold flipback cover with twin red lines framing Derek Taylor`s liner notes, as found on earliest pressings only.
- Also includes the original black inner sleeve, as found only with first pressings. Pristine MINT- condition.

EX++ to MINT- RECORD, carefully played a handful of times at most. A difficult find in this condition!
- Near-perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- Near-inaudible background crackle in between some tracks.
- A few of the lightest hairlines, from sleeve removal and visible under bright light only.
- First-pressing Apple Records labels ("Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions") with a single spindle line on each side.
- Record weight: 148 grams.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "YEX 715 - 1" and "YEX 716 - 1".
- Mothers/Stampers: "2 4 / R G" on Side One and "1 / A G" on Side Two.
- This record is certified to be a very first UK pressing of "Yellow Submarine", released in January 1969.
