This first pressing plays with stunning quality and no interference.  There are no clicks or pops and the clarity and depth of the audio is very impressive.  A couple of tracks do have some static distortion but that always seems to be the case with this album and it would be remiss of me not to mention it!  I don't think there is a mono version of this record around that plays as Mint through a stereo set up!  The vinyl itself is very clean and has clearly not been played very much, it has been very well preserved.
The laminated cover is stunning as you can see and as detailed below is perhaps the cleanest 'red lines' one I have seen.  The original black inner is also in superb condition.
This first pressing has 'Sold in U.K. subject...' on the labels and 'An E.M.I. Recording' on two lines.  It has the slightly later mono cover with 'Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse' in the lower right flipback on the back cover.  It also has very low stampers GG & a single H on S2.

The audio on S1 is Mint(-) (T5 Ex+ / T6 Ex)
The audio on S2 is Mint(-) (T2 to T4 range between Near Mint & Mint- / T5 Ex+)
The cover is Ex+   The original die-cut black inner sleeve is Near Mint
The Apple labels are Near Mint
Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a very strong glossy sheen with no obvious marks or scratches.  Under a bright light you can see a small number of faint hairlines with only a couple that are a little more obvious, still faint / thin though.  There are 3/4 tiny faint blemishes that have no impact on the audio and the Apple labels are super clean with only minimal spindle wear on S1 and just a little more on S2.
Play Grading
The run in on S1 is unbelievably clean without any background and Starr's opening vocal on 'Yellow Submarine' is just as impressive with no intrusion.  The chorus plays perfectly and it continues to play with exceptional clarity and warmth.  There is perhaps a minor amount of vocal distortion on the final chorus but it is kept to a minimum.  The fade out has no background at all.  There are no ticks, clicks or pops anywhere so I will say Near Mint but it's a very strong Near Mint!
With complete silence in the dead wax the intro on 'Only A Northern Song' has barely any static and the first vocal section is on the same level.  From then on it plays so clearly which is more rare than you think!  This first press mono is renown for playing with a somewhat 'muddy' quality but this version is superb.  A 'busy' track that easily deserves a Near Mint grade.
The acoustic intro on 'All Together Now' is stunning and McCartney's opening vocal is faultless.  The first chorus is as close to perfect as is possible with no obvious static distortion.  It continues in the same precise way with a rare clarity of sound - I'm tempted to say Mint- but I will say Near Mint just to err on the side of caution.
The intro on 'Hey Bulldog' is superb with zero intrusion and the Lennon's first vocal is just as clean.  Again I am struck by the overall clarity and depth of sound here and it progresses in the same way.  If there is any static distortion it is kept to an absolute minimum and is totally non-intrusive.  This is without doubt one of the cleanest versions I have ever heard and again there are no ticks or clicks etc.  It has to be Near Mint at the very least.
The 'feedback' intro on 'It's All Too Much' is 'as new' and the next section plays clearly with only a little of the distortion that is synonymous with this track.  Maybe it's more to do with how it was mixed - as any Beatles aficionado will know the sonic quality is not the best but there is no actual interference.  I've played it twice now and I am very impressed by the audio - a psychedelic 'acid' classic it has a drone like quality which is commanded by the Hammond organ and I will say Ex+ but even that could be considered a little harsh.  Like I say it's just how it was recorded, and with so much going on I am sure they wanted that 'sonic' affect.
'All You Need Is Love' ends the side with no interference but there is some what I call inner groove distortion mainly on the vocal.  This is a common feature on this LP and I'm sure could be 'improved' when played on a mono set up.  Ex
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
S2 or the George Martin side (!) plays with stunning quality throughout.  'Pepperland' then with sublime precision with only 3/4 barely audible dust ticks and grades as Mint- for sure.
'Sea Of Time / Holes / Monsters' all play beautifully with no clicks, pops or static.  The only background is a small number of minor statics but in no way do they intrude on the sound quality.  It is not interference!  I would say they range between Near Mint and Mint- the clarity and definition of the audio is superb.  It is obvious this side has hardly been played.
'March Of the Meanies' just has one very brief static 'moment' as the volume increases and a handful of minor ticks in the middle section but otherwise plays to perfection.  Ex+
'Pepperland Laid Waste' plays with stunning precision through every section.  So clear and 'fresh' sounding.  Mint-
'Yellow Submarine In Pepperland' ends the album in fine style with a clarity and warmth that cannot be beaten.  Once again every note is so clean and precise and Mint- is deserved.  A superb side.
The Cover & Original Die-Cut Inner Sleeve
This is probably the finest example of this G & L cover that I ever seen and hopefully the photos do it justice.  The edges and thin pinched spine are incredibly clean and the corners are in superb shape also.  The opening edge has hardly any handling wear and the laminated front cover is STUNNING!  It is unmarked and has just one very faint crease that you can only see when you hold the cover at a certain angle, hardly needs a mention really.  The back cover of course is not laminated and yet remains so clean with no obvious marking.  The flipbacks are still firmly attached to the cover and the edges have only a minimal amount of marking / staining / creasing.  A superb example all round.
The black inner sleeve remarkably has no side splits or tears, no marking and only minimal light creasing.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
