THE BEATLES

"YESTERDAY"... AND TODAY

 CAPITOL RECORDS STEREO ST-2553

Monster collector's copy of the 1st West Coast, Los Angeles, Hollywood Stereo pressing with the original Life Magazine sticker. But what's really worth focusing on is the fact that this is the rarest example of the 1st issue cover with the PINK CARDBOARD INTERIOR. How rare is this copy? Currently, you'll find quite a lot of copies of the Butcher cover, now, try finding a single copy with the pink interior. The only time I came across this copy was several years ago, when Mr. Cox's listed an opened copy of The Beatles Yesterday and Today with the pink cardboard inside. His description didn’t leave any doubts about the rarity of this copy. I’d been unaware all this time, while this sealed copy had been stored in my collection. Determining to sell this copy and examining the record meticulously, I realized that the mouth of the record had a barely visible (at the level of conjecture) thin pink line in the center. I was so excited by my assumption that I decided to make a half an inch incision in the shrink wrap at the top part of mouth, even though in case of a negative outcome this incision would lead to the price decrease on this copy. But, here’s the result, right in front of it. This is indeed a factory sealed copy of the very early Yesterday and Today Stereo pressing with the rarest pink cardboard interior! The front cover contains the original «Advertised in Life $2.98 Stereo-Fidelity» promotional price sticker affixed to the shrink wrap. The back cover has «5» stamped next to the Record Industry Association of America RIAA logo. The cover number «5» was stamped by Capitol Records Los Angeles, Hollywood in the approximate period from 1963 to 1966. There’s one more evidence confirming that this the very early 1st Stereo pressing, a yellow Capitol Records «Capitol ’66; Sounds Great» inner sleeve seen through the careful incision in the shrink wrap, mentioned above.

CONDITION:

VINYL - MINT (FACTORY SEALED)

COVER -  MINT (FACTORY SEALED)  In spite of the light incision at the mouth, I still grade the record as Mint, because it’s in stunning condition with the beautiful spine and sharp corners (with only the bottom right corner having a slight bumping) The shrink wrap doesn’t have any splits along the seams (only the light incision mentioned in the description several times already) or tears. The cover itself, doesn’t have any damage or scuffs, including the beautiful snow white back cover. The Life sticker affixed to the shrink wrap on the front cover contains some light staining and yellow age spots, along with some very light wear.

POLICY

Realizing how important it is to secure the safety of the item you've paid your money for, I'll put my best effort into packing the records as best as possible, triple boxing them into the specialized professional boxes, with the two outer boxes having a special construction with extended cardboard on the edges to prevent the record covers' corners from getting damaged during the transit, and will also put the vinyl outside of the cover (of course, unless it's a sealed record) to prevent the splitting. I always try responding to the messages, but please, before sending me a message, make sure that the answer to your question isn't included in the description. I'll use my right to block a buyer, who doesn't correspond to my idea of politeness, culture and respect toward each other. If you want to participate in my auction, please be honest and positive, and I'll be mutual with you. I'll remove the bids of a buyer with zero rating, unless he contacts me prior to placing a bid. Unfortunately, I don't ship to Germany or Russia. I apologize to the buyers from these countries in advance.
