Description
Highly unusual Top loading gatefold sleeve with embossed “Beatles” but without a clearly visible number. If you look very closely there is a stamped “No” just about visible and when at the right angle and under a magnifying glass there is the hint of a few digits but the actual number is indecipherable. I can only assume that somehow not enough pressure was applied during stamping of the number. Please look closely at second photo.
Indications are that the missing number would be fairly low. The sleeve is top loading, it is a mono issue and one of the discs has no “EMI recording…” on both sides.
Details are;
Top Loader / Black inners / poster (poor condition) / no photos
sides 1 & 2 have no “EMI recording” text on the labels
KJT tax code on side 4.
Matrix Numbers / Stampers:
Side 1 : XEX 709-1 6 AM
Side 2 : XEX 710-1 7 PL
Side 3 : XEX 711-1 1 MT
Side 4 : XEX 712-2 3 GDT
**********
Vinyl looks clean with light marks / hairlines & scuffing visible under bright light. Sides 1,3 & 4 are VG+ while side 2 is VG as it has a small scratch. All four sides play with fantastic clean & strong audio, no significant issues, no jumps, no persistent crackle no repetitive clicks apart from on side 2 where there are some in the gap after “Rocky Raccoon” and, if you are listening out for them, into the following track - but they don’t distract from the music.
The top loading gatefold sleeve with flip backs on the sides is a strong VG+ fully legible spine, no splits, no tears, no real issues just minor wear and a little flaking of the laminate around the spine. The openings and edges had previously been sellotaped and there is still some residue along the inside edges where the discs are housed.
The poster is present but in very poor condition, held together with decaying tape.
The original Black inners are both intact, one has a 2 cm split in the middle of one edge and the other has similar on one edge and a 11 cm split on the other edge. Also some wear along the openings.

The discs have been machine cleaned on my Pro-ject machine (using Pro-ject’s own alcohol free cleaning fluid) and come in brand new anti static lined inners.
Postage will be tracked and fully insured.

Gradings refer to the UK Record Collector Magazine standard (shown below). I would only use "mint" for genuinely unplayed records. Visual grading is done under a spotlight. Play testing is done on my Pro-ject or Rega turntable.
If buyer is not satisfied for any reason please contact me, I will refund on safe return of item.
Record will be packaged in a mailer with stiffening. If requested I will pack with the record removed from the outer sleeve (normally with double lps I pack with the discs inside to prevent crushing of the spine).
Mint (M) - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent (EX) - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG) - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable
Good (G) - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
