THE BEATLES - WITH THE BEATLES - 12" VINYL LP PARLOPHONE PMC 1206 - 1963 Matrix Nos: XEX 447 - 1N GG, XEX 448 - 1N GH Tax Code MT
I am pretty sure this is a first pressing of this classic LP, as it has a 1963 tax code embossed on the side two label. I was given this in the 1970s but, as I already had a stereo version, I never played it until a few days ago. Surprise surprise, it sounds amazing. It seems to have a different, slightly more depth of sound from my stereo version, if that makes any sense. Although there is a scuff mark on side one (see close-up picture) and some feint lines, the vinyl is in excellent condition, with no scratches, sticks, jumps, warps or distortion to the sound. Very quiet lead-ins, crystal clear reproduction with maybe the odd, very light click. It is even quiet between the tracks with no surface noise. Light crackle can be heard on the run-outs. The cover is also in excellent condition with a laminated front which has just the slightest signs of ring-wear at the top. The back has some age related staining and a number 3 written on the top left hand corner. The inner sleeve, which I believe is the original, has a 3cm split at the top opening and two small tears, again at the opening. The black, yellow and silver labels have spindle marks, showing that it has been played, but clean with no writing. On side two you can see the white areas of the MT embossed code. I have photographed these with and without flash. The ones with flash are closer to the actual colour. A low starting price and no reserve.
