Yer Blues” has that edgy blues stomp and sounds very much like The Black Keys, and I was on the verge of yelling at my stereo, “You plagiarising bastards!” when I realised that these guys did it first. Then all of the other similarities started to show themselves. “Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da” is basically the blueprint for The Offspring’s “Why Don't You Get a Job?”. “Dear Prudence” sounds like one of those slow numbers that the Foo Fighters are so fond of peppering their rock records with. “Revolution 1” gave rise to bands like Set Fire to Flames and their ilk. Whatever you hear in today’s music you have to accept the fact that the Beatles were probably there first, and on no other album is that more obvious than it is on this one, a wild mix of styles jammed together with none of the concept that dominates some of their other records from this era, just good clean musical fun for an hour and a half.
