Description
THE BEATLES Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. MONO VINYL LP
Firstly, I am not a specialist record seller, although I have been playing them for many decades! However, I am confident that this is a first UK pressing dating from 1967. I have taken close- up photos of the label for you to do your own verification.
Parlophone PMC 7027 Mono. The matrix marks are: XEX 637-1 and XEX 637-1. The inner sleeve is the original that came with the record and is unsplit. The cardboard insert is present and uncut and unmarked. The outer sleeve has some wear and tear, especially on the spine edge and bottom/top corners, but otherwise very good (over 50 years old remember!)
The vinyl itself is bright and shiny but does have light surface marks and a lot of spindle marks, indicating that it has been played a lot. I have played both sides on my quality hifi equipment and there whilst there are no pops or clicks to speak of, there is surface noise/crackling throughout. This is most noticeable during quiet passages and barely audible when the music gets loud. I think the most accurate grading, based on Record Collector magazine would be : "Good" that is, "The record has obviously been played quite a lot, with some loss of sound quality, but is still quite listenable. Despite some wear and tear the cover and contents display no major defects".
Please study the photos - apologies for my amateur photography skills.
A very collectible record, especially in the rarer mono format.
Collection welcome (GU46 6FQ). Otherwise postage is with Royal Mail economy signed for, to UK postcodes only. No international postage. I will pack it correctly for postage.
Any queries please ask before you bid & I'll do my best to answer them.
Thank you for looking.
