Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my Beatles, Rolling Stones and some progressive records that are form my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, an extremely rare 1st German STEREO EXPORT pressing of The Beatles – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Soul on the Red / White / Gold Odeon label, cat. no. SMO 81 045. This copy still has the original Red and Pink inner sleeve and the green cut-out sheet. I believe this pressing was made for the Swiss market.
The record is in VG to VG+ condition; there are a some non-sounding hairlines, a couple superficial surface marks and one or two sounding marks. The labels are in EX condition, there are a couple spindle marks only.
The cover is in VG to VG+ condition; there is some feathering on the opening edge of the front and a fold on the inside of the gatefold. It looks like a production error, because the fold is not on the outside, only on the inside panel. Besides the mentioned defects, there is nothing wrong with the cover, no writing, no rips or tears or other damage.
The original German Red and Pink inner sleeve is in VG condition, there is a 6.5 cm tear on the outer seam, but further there basically nothing wrong.
This is an very rare 1st German STEREO EXPORT pressing of the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper album. This record was made for the Swiss market in very limited quantities, as Switserland is not a big country. Although not in Mint condition, this is a very rare pressing of Sgt. Pepper and is not offered for sale on regular basis. This is a real opportunity to complete your life-time Beatles record collection! A must have for all Beatles records collectors! Happy Bidding!
