Description
This is RUBBER SOUL - by THE BEATLES, the original 1st Press vinyl MONO record released in 1965.
This from the very first MONO pressings, and is none as the 'LOUD CUT' version.
The LP is an original first pressing on the Parlophone label, numbered PMC 1267 and the matrix numbers in the vinyl runout are:
XEX 579 - 1
XEX 580 - 1
(The -1 denotes the 'Loud Cut' version)
This 1st press UK release is documented on the DISCOGS website.
I use the "Record Collectors Grading System" which can be viewed on the Record Collector website.
I use "+" and "-" to provide a more precise grading, where a record sits between 2 grades.
VINYL
During play test it played surprisingly well, quiet between tracks, and only 3 issues - and is hence rated VG+ for audio.
These are the play test results:
- Track 3 has a repeating pip for about half the track.
- The track "Michelle" has some moments where the record wear is audible.
- There are a couple of soft pips at the end of the final track.
Otherwise it plays a lot better than it looks visually.
Visually the record has obviously been played many times, as can been seen from the spindle marks (please see photo).
There is a scuff line across tracks 1 to 3, but it only affects the sound on track 3 (as stated above).
COVER
The front cover is a clean, shiny laminate.
The cover edges have spots of wear in places, and a one inch slit in the top edge.
The text on the spine is all intact.
The back of the cover was not laminated and not surprisingly for a 55 year record, it has discolouration caused by its age (please see photo).
The rating for the cover is G+
(Please see my feedback for selling vinyl over a year ago)
The record will be posted in a MusicMAX STRONG LOCKTAB RECORD MAILER.
