                      THE BEATLES
I am very pleased to offer for sale ;
          RUBBER SOUL UK * STEREO *FIRST PRESS
 ( WITH EMI FACTORY SAMPLE LABELLED DISC )
Many collectors of Beatles original UK Vinyl seem to hold great store by an original First pressing disc that carries an EMI ‘ FACTORY SAMPLE, NOT FOR SALE ‘ label I have never really subscribed to this even though I have ended up with several within my collection. Basically the ‘ Factory Sample labeled Discs are simply discs that have been taken from The production  pressing runs  to check on the production quality and then archived. It is very probable that these production control discs were taken from each pressing batch which were run at about 300 copies per batch before the Buckingham Stamper codes etc were altered. So based on this I estimate that approximately 1 in 300 discs carry the EMI Factory Sample Label which does make it a little rarer and will attract a slight premium But nothing to get over excited about. Obviously should a  1 / G,   1  /G,   or  I / G ,  1 /R, Factory Sample Discs become available Then I consider that with these Mother  / Stamper Codes it will carry quite a high premium.  These Factory Sample copies were later  given away to EMI executives or important record buyers  and some were sold to EMI employees at a discount,  then over the years these  have gradually found  their way into the open market through this route.

                             EMI ‘ FACTORY SAMPLE, label to  the Side 1, Disc label                                                                            CONDITION;
Please Note; In my opinion the grading of vinyl records and sleeves is at best subjective                      So with this in mind I will always err on the side of caution with my                      Grading’s. Which are based on the ‘Record Collector‘ UK Grading’s                        There seems to be far too many  vinyl records being offered for sale that are                    Not realistcally graded.

DISC;  -  LABELS ,                EXCELLENT  /  EXCELLENT-
Both Labels are in lovely condition, all the silver and yellow lettering is in very nice condition  the black label background is also in nice condition, when angled into strong light both labels show some feint wispy spindle trails, there is very little detectable spindle hole wear. The Side 2 label shows a very small pressing blemish to the right of the spindle hole. Apart from the rare Factory sample label on side 1, there is NO writing, stickers or sticker Removal marks .

DISC;  VISUAL,                    EXCELLENT  /  VERY GOOD +
In normal daylight  it  shows both disc surfaces to have have retained their beautiful  deep black gloss sheen. In normal daylight I could not detect any stylus marks or scratches to the surface.   Directly beneath my unforgiving  Double Halogen  deskLamp the only other marks that I   Could detect were some faint  wispy  bag removal type hairlines and one very feint rub mark NONE of which are in any way feelable or interefere with the excellent audio.
.
DISC;   AUDIO,                   EXCELLENT
During one very careful play of both sides of this superb disc the Audio was very nice  The Audio was deep, rich and punchy and during all tracks I could not detect any heavy  Or background crackle, apart from some very occasional light dust pops the overall listening Experience was excellent.There were NO skips ,stalls or clicks. Even on the run in’s & outs and between tracks I could detect no more than just a very  occasional feint dust pop.

INNER;                                 VERY GOOD +
This inner is the correct  Emitex   Rice Paper Lined  Inner   There are NO, seam splits, writing, stickers or seam repairs, the die cut centre circles show NO nicks or splits. It shows just some inevitable light creasing, but overall it is very clean and free from any heavy age toning or foxing.

SLEEVE;          Front Panel;         EXCELLENT -
The outer sleeve is the original Garrod & Lofthouse  front laminated tri  - flipback sleeve  with an unlaminated back panel. The front still retains a very nice high gloss sheen, it shows some clean  thumbnail creases to  the edges and some laminate spiders around the area of Ringo’s face.
. The top and bottom seams are free from any splitting or heavy wear, the spine is in superb condition,  it is  very firm with all the spine text in as new condition, crisp and clear. All four corners show some   light rubbing and there is a small area of light rubbing to the bottom seam but  nothing that detracts from the overall appearance. .
Flipbacks;          EXCELLENT
The Tri  Fold  Flipbacks are in nice clean  condition with no more than a very Few  feint clean thumbnails, the corners are still in excellent condition .

Back Panel;        EXCELLENT     The back panel has survived in nice  condition, it  is still  clean  and shows none of the heavy age toning / browning that is often associated with these back panels, It shows NO writing or stickers of any kind, the open edge is still firm and shows just a very small amount of rubbing  and some very light age toning mainly towards this open edge.
It is becoming hard  to find an original Garrod & Lofthouse Patents Pending Rubber Soul  STEREO sleeve in this overall condition.    .   SLEEVE OVERALL GRADING IS A FIRM,  EXCELLENT -

In my opinion this is a very respectable overall example of this sought after Beatles Album And represents an ideal future investment for a young or new Beatles Record Collector.

Should you have any further questions about this  Album, please do not hesitate to contact me  and I will do my best to answer them.
