THE BEATLES

"RUBBER SOUL"

MONO LP - YELLOW & BLACK PARLOPHONE LABEL

UK RELEASE

  PMC.1267 - XEX.579-4 / XEX.580-4

This LP is a corrected FIRST PRESSING issued in 1965.  Heavier 150gm vinyl.

"THE GRAMOPHONE CO.LTD." around rim.

"SOLD IN UK SUBJECT TO......." text on both labels.

"MADE IN GT.BRITAIN"

"KT TAX CODE" EMBOSSED ON SIDE 1 LABEL

Condition:

Sleeve:  VERY GOOD+ :  This is an ERNEST J DAY front laminated "flipback" sleeve, in really very good condition for its age.  The front shows numerous edge creases.  All edges are free of splits, and the spine is good and strong with bold title print.  The rear has all flipback seams intact, but bottom right corner looks as though it has been re fixed.  The non-laminated part of the rear is slightly discoloured with age and showing normal handling marks around the opening edge.  Thankfully, it is totally free of stickers and writing.  The inner sleeve is plain white.

Record: EXCELLENT:  The lovely thick and heavy vinyl is showing several very light hairlines on both sides, but these do not have any adverse effect on playback.  Plays exceptionally well. with no skips or jumps, but there is some light background noise between some tracks.  Labels are clean and free of writing and stickers, but do show average spindle wear for its age.

Both labels show the "SOLD SUBJECT TO..." text, and Side 1 clearly shows the embossed "KT" Tax Code.

Personally played to check sound quality, and it plays very well throughout - the original MONO sound be a real pleasure to enjoy.

No skips or jumps - GUARANTEED.

I try to accurately describe the condition as per The Record Collector's Guide's parameters:

MINT:  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.  Records advertised as Sealed or unplayed should be mint.

EXCELLENT:  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.  The cover and packaging may have some slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:  The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.  Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD:  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.
