Description

THE BEATLES – RUBBER SOUL – 1965 MONO LP “LOUD CUT” – PARLOPHONE PMC 1267

The “Loud Cut” refers to the earliest pressings from the -1 matrix which were mastered at a higher volume than all the subsequent versions. Apparently this was for the first few days only, so imagine how little that was compared to the many millions released over the years.

This offer has the -1 matrix on both sides and comes from ‘2’ and ‘1’ mothers with stampers ‘RD’ and ‘RM; using the EMI code ‘GRAMOPHLTD’  means the 20th and 24th respectively.

The vinyl is in very good condition indeed with only surface marks and light hairlines. It playtests beautifully with only the odd crackle and click one would expect from a piece of history this old. The black/silver labels with the yellow logos are in great shape with only spindle marks worth noting.

The original poly-lined ‘window’ inner sleeve has only a couple of creases and strictly no tears or splits. It is yellowed at the edges.

The Garrod and Lofthouse outer sleeve is also in very good condition. The front laminated cover has only minimal creases and wear; there is also minimal edge wear, mainly at the bottom, and the spine is terrific. The unlaminated back is a little yellowed with age but virtually no marking except for my name written neatly top left (the follies of youth!). Please see pictures.

A very nice example of this incredibly rare release of one of The Beatle’s most classic of albums.

Low start, no reserve.
