Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my Rolling Stones, Beatles (and related) and 60’s beat records that are from my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, an extremely rare 1st German STEREO EXPORT pressing of The Beatles – Revolver on the Red / White / Gold Odeon label, cat. no. SMO 74 161 with label error (I Want to LOVE You instead of I Want to Tell You). I believe this pressing was made for the Swiss market.
The record is in VG+ condition; there are some non-sounding hairlines and there is a very light sounding scratch at the beginning of “Here, There and Everywhere”. This scratch produces a very light ticking sound for about 45 seconds every revolution. The rest of the album plays fine without any major problems. The labels are in EX condition, there are a couple spindle marks only.
The cover is in VG++ condition; there are two hardly noticeable crinkles on the front, the back has some very slight ring wear, the upper seam has some very light wear and the opening edge has some very faint handling wear. Besides these mentioned small defects, this cover is in great shape; no writing, no rips or tears or other unwanted damage.
The original German EMI advertising inner sleeve is in VG+++ condition, there is only a tiny tear on the die-cut hole.
This is a very rare 1st German STEREO EXPORT pressing of the Beatles’ Revolver album with rare misspelling on the label. Only the very first pressing stated “I Want to LOVE You instead of “I Want to Tell You”. This error was soon discovered and changes were made immediately. Also, this record was made for the Swiss market in very limited quantities, as Switzerland is not a big country. Although not in Mint condition, this is a very rare pressing of Revolver and is not offered for sale on regular basis. This is a real opportunity to complete your life-time Beatles record collection!
