Description

The Beatles Revolver 1966 Capitol Promo Copy

Rare pre-release promo copy, which Capitol Records shipped to radio stations in order to promote the album before its official release. Commercial cover has a perforated drill-hole punch reading "PROM". This is a very rare Scranton pressing plant copy as the majority of Revolver's promotional copies have "PROMO". 1st print black rainbow label without the subsidiary print and with the "Lennon-McCartney" author credits, which were later corrected to "John Lennon-Paul McCartney" using the authors' full names. 1st print cardboard cover has a gray back and not black. The front cover is in Near Mint Minus condition with the back cover being Very Good Plus due to some light shelf wear and ring wear. The record comes with an original bright orange Capitol inner sleeve which also contains a perforated "PROM" drill-hole punch. The vinyl is in great condition and is somewhere between Very Good Plus and Excellent with a few light scuffs and hairlines. This copy was pressed by Capitol Records at the Scranton, Pennsylvania pressing plant and has the first matrix numbers Side 1: T1-2575-F3 IAM in Triangle Machine Stamp; Side 2: T2-2576-F5#2 IAM in Triangle Machine Stamp.
