BEATLES
“OTRO DE LOS BEATLES”
(Please Please Me)
WOW!!! RARE and hard-to-find original MONO very first edition (second press) released in Chile in 1964 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon , S.A. (Odeon Records), an EMI company, catalog number LDC-36471, matrix numbers: XEX 422-1N at 6 o’clock and 14 at 12 Side 1 and XEX 422-2M at 6 o’clock and 14 at 12 in Side 2, with yellow/black labels with big Odeon box logo!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!! An authentic very first edition of “Please, Please Me” released in Chile!!! As you must know, this record has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, only used in Chile, and it’s one the rarest editions worldwide!!! Not only an unique picture sleeve, it also has an unique title: Otro De Los Beatles” (Other Of The Beatles). A must for Beatles collectors!!! The RARE MATRIX NUMBER in Side 2, “2M”, is a real rarity, because they overwrote “N” on “M” and so it looks like it was scratched!!! Incredible error!!!
“PLEASE PLEASE ME” was originally released in 1963 and it was released in Chile in 1964, after “With The Beatles”!!! Yes, “Please Please Me” was the second album of The Beatles released in Chile, the first one was “With The Beatles”, so the title was changed to “OTRO DE LOS BEATLES” (OTHER OF THE BEATLES), and like in most of the cases of that period, we got this album with an UNIQUE COVER!!! As you can see it has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and the cover is unlaminated and is the typical Chilean cover made of 2 single sheets of paper attached (not glued) to a thin cardboard kept together for an outer plastic bag which’s part of the cover. Front cover has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, only used in Chile and back cover is also totally different, with title in Spanish: “Otro De Los Beatles (Por favor… compláceme) (Please please me)” with a complete review of the career of The Beatles. It’s interesting to see that in back cover the sides are identified as “Faz Uno” and “Faz Dos” but in labels they are “A” and “B”. In back cover the tracklist is in English, translated to Spanish, but in labels the tracklist is in English only with the title of the album in Spanish.
Yes Sirs, this is really one of those finds you don’t see so often, one of the original copies of this famous album released in Chile in 1964 with an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and UNIQUE TITLE!!! And what a great condition of both cover and record!!! Superb condition!!! And remember the most interesting fact of this early pressing: matrix number in Side 2 is mispressed!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE and now you have the chance to own this rare press of "Please please me"!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition, with no marks (the ring mark you can see in the picture is in the outer plastic bag, not in the paper), no writings, minimal creases, only one rip in the outer plastic bag in front cover and a light sign of humidity at the bottom right corner, no blemishes, only some wear in the edges. Outer plastic bag is in VG+ or EX- condition, with only one rip in front cover, no other rips and no marks at all. The record is thick and it’s in superb VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean but with some light hairlines, scuffs and some very light scratches, more evident in Side 1, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in NM or NM+ condition, absolutely clean and clear, but in Side A some past owner wrote his/her initials “GVM”. The sound is the best part of this record, it’s in strong EX or EX+ condition the Side 1, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), no pops, no clicks, only some crackles here and there, and in VG+ or EX- condition the Side 2, with crackles more evident in the second part of “Do you want to know a secret?” and some light pops here and there, which don’t distract at all. I can say most of the songs play in absolute NM condition!!! But I’d recommend a vacuum cleaning anyway, maybe the sound could even get better. Overall a record with a cover in great condition, with still a nice and clean look and with an amazing sound quality after 47 years, NO SKIPS, NO REPETITIONS, NO DISTORTIONS!!! Great sound from the beginning to the end!!! And remember the error in the matrix of Side B, not seen in any other edition worldwide: “XEX 422-2M”!!! (In a close inspection it’s clear the wrote “M” and then they overwrote “N”, so it seem to be scratched).
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a copy of this RARE record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile.

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
