Description
THE BEATLES PLEASE PLEASE ME MONO MATRIX 1-N.
This is the Beatles first album. It was recorded in a day and was the first step in changing popular music and making the four Liverpool lads the most successful group of the 20th century. No one came close.
Eight of the fourteen songs were written by Lennon and McCartney. A pop group writing their own songs was in itself revolutionary. As the records proceeded The Beatles would become a self contained unit only recording their own songs. The Beatles didn’t just point the way, they created the template. And this album is where it started. And it’s a scorcher.
Right, enough of the praise. You can research this album’s importance and The Beatles place in music yourself. It really is an enjoyable learning journey!
This copy that I’m selling is not mint condition. You’ll have to pay ridiculous prices for that. BUT it is very good ++ condition for an album that will be 60 years old next March. The vinyl has some marks (hardly noticeable even held up to light.) but those marks don’t intrude on the sound at all. I’ve just played it and it sounds great. Really great.
The album is in the black and yellow Parlophone label (there a faint piece of writing virtually unnoticeable at the £ trade mark on both sides. The pictures pick them up. Seriously not a problem.)and the matrix ends 1-N. It is the Mono version which I think sounds better than the stereo. ( Try and own both!)
The Angus McBean cover is very clean with a very few creases. The rear often grubby is remarkably nice condition and will sit well in your record collection. A few bits of the envelope fold are coming up but nothing too bad.
Please look at pictures for a better idea.
Why am I selling? After several years I tracked down a mint copy. (It wasn’t cheap!) Every serious record collector should have this in their collection. It’s a lovely copy.
I have been buying (mainly) and selling on EBay for over twenty years and have a 100% positive feedback, so bid with total confidence. Good luck!
