The BeatlesPlease Please Me Very Early 1st Pressing Black & Gold label.
This album was released on the 22nd of March 1963 and this black and gold label edition is one of those released on that day.
Features the Dick James credit on both side 1 and 2 proving it is a first pressing.
Also features the original 1st press black and gold sleeve. Has a LARGE MONO printed in the top right corner and the "Angus McBean" photo credit in the very bottom right corner.
Matrix Numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
The Side 1 label has the tax code stamp ZT on the spindle area.
Side 2 label has a VERY RARE ridge running roughly half way around the label. Very few very 1st pressings exist with this label pressing variation.
Comes with the original EMITEX inner sleeve.
Also included in the sale is a facsimile of a Please Please Me "Rush Release" press kit. This is an item I got from a friend of mine and thought it would go well with this black and gold pressing considering the press kit would have been released at the same time as this early black and gold press.
Condition
Vinyl is Very Good
On heavy weight thick vinyl, the vinyl visually grades Very Good, although it sounds really nice and certainly is a pleasure to listen to all the way through without any major disrupting defects. Please listen to a sample of the vinyl below.
Sleeve is Very Good-
The original 1st press black and gold sleeve is all in one piece and there are no seam splits and no tears on the opening.
Inner Sleeve is Excellent
No splits or rips, a nice example.
Press Kit Facsimile is Excellent
A nice edition to the black and gold first press. Has small creasing on the top left on every page. Apart from that it's in great condition.
Sensible offers considered, however if it goes unsold then i will not be re-listing.
