Description
The very rare & collectable Gold label first pressing of Please Please Me, The Beatles first album. The record has the following attributes, signifying that it is one of the first ever pressed:
'DICK JAMES MUS. Co.' publishing credits for: 'I Saw Her Standing There', 'Misery', 'Do You Want to Know a Secret' & 'There's A Place'.
The matrices are : XEX 421- 1N XEX 422- 1N Grading of Vinyl ; the record has a number of light marks & surface scratches which give rise to the occasional light clicking & crackling, which , in my opinion, does not detract too much from the overall very good sound quality of this special album.I found one feelable scratch. The lead in grooves to the first tracks on both sides has a short 'sh' or rubbing sound. Also on the lead in grooves to 2nd. & 3rd. tracks on both sides, but fainter , but still detectable.. These sounds do not affect the music at all. I grade this record as VG Minus.
The sleeve is from a later pressing & is pretty good on the front, with no major defects except wear to the edges & corners. There is a name written on the rear.( see photo). I would grade this as VG Minus/VG.
It comes in the original 'Emitex' inner. PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY AND VIEW THE PHOTOS.
From my own collection. All test played on a Hi-Fi deck using M75 ED Type 2 cartridge & stylus tracking at I.5 gms. Packed in card mailers with stiffeners & posted in a plain sleeve , with picture sleeves etc. separated.
All records graded according to Record Collector guidelines.
I hope that you will be happy with your purchase, but if not, just contact me directly & there will be a no-quibble refund upon return of the record. U.K. only. Although it will be sent first class tracked, please allow a little extra delivery time as the Royal Mail catch up after their strike action.
