Hello. Up for your consideration is an extremely rare version one stereo copy ofIntroducing The Beatles on Vee-Jay Records. This first version of the album containing Love Me Do and P.S. I Love You was withdrawn after only a few weeks on sale since Vee-Jay didn't own the rights to those two songs. Because only around 2,200 stereo version one copies were originally manufactured in 1963, less than 1,000 of which were the "Ad Back" versions, this is considered one of the holy grails to Beatles collectors.
This beautiful copy features the so called "Ad Back" on the back cover consisting of 25 other Vee-Jay albums released at the time. "Printed in U.S.A." is present on the far left side of the front cover which is unique to version 1 copies.The cover sleeve is still enclosed in its original Sears Roebuck and Co. outer wrapping which has nicely preserved it the past 65 years.Unfortunately the outer wrapping seems to be sticking to part of the back cover which prevents it from being easily removed. Perhaps some heat or steam could dissolve the glue enough for the cover to be removed if desired.The cover has no splits at all and I would almost grade it NM- if it weren't for some small minor marks in the bottom corner where the outer wrapping has ripped (see image 5) and the aforementioned glue issue on the back. Otherwise there is little yellowing or even any ringwear to speak of. The cover appears worn from the images but this is actually the outer wrapping. The cover inside is VG+ as stated.
Now on to the LP.The record is a matching version one stereo pressing. The LP only grades VG because of the typical light scratches a 60+ year old LP has. Thankfully the record plays much better than it looks with barely any surface noise and no skips. The groove wear is negligible for a record of this age also; it's clear this copy was taken good care of. The stereo separation is surprisingly very good except for Love Me Do and P.S. I Love You which use the same fake stereo mixes as the stereo UK Please Please Me album.The LP labels are the colorband variation with oval "VEE JAY" logos and "STEREO" across the top in sans serif font. The images are scans of the actual labels.The matrix numbers are as follows:Side 1: 63-3402S  Side 2: 63-3403SBoth sides have the "AudioMatrix" stamp as well as the cursive "ARP" which make this an American Record Pressing Co. pressing.
